One of 4500 species of crabs, the Dungeness crab is named after one of its habitats, the Dungeness Spit, in Northern Washington. Like all crabs, it is an omnivore, and females are known to lay between 1000-2000 eggs. As they grow, crabs must shed their old carapace, in a process called moulting. Their appearance is characterized by their yellow to reddish-brown colouration, and their large serrated claws, much like the fine-art print on our t-shirt. Did we mention crabs are older than dinosaurs? You'd look crabby too.
